I can’t be the only person who loves these laughably cute and small wannabe 4x4’s. It seems everyone and there mom has a wrangler these days I wish there was some more competition on the market

All of the above are awesome as fuck

so sad how Suzuki had such a HUGE head start in this market segment but doesn’t even exist anymore :(

Well Suzuki still sell the Jimny, a tiny little SUV with selectable 4WD and a low range gearbox.

Well from the American perspective you are missing a lot. In Japan and places like NZ these are really popular little 4X4s. The Suzukis are very capable off roaders and come in lots of configurations. The RAV4 is probably not as good but in parts of Japan where my family lives they are better in the snow than a kei car.

This wasn’t good enough for you?
But, seriously, I agree. I remember when Amigos were everywhere. Those things were great.

Came here to say this. None of the above could really be considered a knock off, and pretty much all except the Rav4 were straight up competition to the Wrangler. Don’t knock the Amigo, amigo!

This picture floored me. I tried to just post stock rigs but this thing looks like a fuckin rc car it's so awesome. The samurai was arguably better off trail than the yj when it came out but was the butt of many jokes because of how small and tiny the engine was. It was pretty much the miata of the 4x4 world

I agree with this!!!

You’re forgetting the huge impact the yj had in the 80’s when it came out. These cars all were born from that car and Americas growing fascination with capable 4x4’s. Realistically these are all glorified beach buggys but are so much fun. The rav4 is a foot shorter than a honda fit!

A million times yes on this one. There has to be a market out there for this, one would think. Considering probably only 20% or so (completely arbitrary figure I made up) Jeep owners don’t do anything more than the occasional soft-roading, these little utes would make perfect sense. Oh how I wish for a modern Suzuki XC-90.

It’s called an Asia Rocsta and it’s basically a tiny Wrangler.
